There was a story in the news the other day about someone who zoombombed an LGBTQIA+ group for BAME students at a uni in the UK and started saying racial and homophobic slurs and showed gay porn, it was awful.

My class HAS been zoom bombed. It went by a youtuber or a criminal, it was more of another student (from a different class of the same grade) entering the call thanks to the class clown of our group. The kid from the other class was trolling out class whenever he could and it wasn’t even funny, it was more annoying. We were missing hours of class and we were talking about an upcoming exam. It was so annoying, but it was actually funny when the two guys got in trouble with the principal

So this happened to me, I was in P.E class when a student(they told us it was a student from our school) showed a video of two *minors* making out. Luckily I was one of the fortunate ones that didn't see it but still-

I really hate this sh*t. It's been happening on my Social studies class. Some random dastard always comes to the Zoom class and uses someone in my class's name and if they get in, they'll start talking in this low gravely voice and start cussing at the teacher. It's gotten to the point where my Social studies teacher gets a little paranoid on if the student who comes in class is that random person or one of the students.

It's so annoying because before my school switched to a safer app, and once a youtuber I used to like ( don't like them anymore and you will know why in a second.) and I'm not going to say who it is. They just came in the zoom call (before we switched to the other one) and they started chatting stuff in the chat like "jokes" about being raped and stuff like that. It's horrible because my friend got raped when she was younger by one of her moms past boyfriends and it hurt me too because we've known eachother since we were around 6 and she opened up about being raped and told me not to tell ayone, and I "promised" then called the police. It's hard for an 11 year old to know that one of her friends are being raped. My friend is okay now, but the "jokes" brought back a lot of scary feelings. When I went to check their video (since I was still subbed notifs on im not allowed to have my phone during school) I watched the whole video and NOT A SINGLE PART OF THE VIDEO showed how they made those bad "jokes".

That's why my school uses something called Webex. Nobody can join unless someone is from the school district and logs in into that certain website that only that districts students can use. At first I never have found these videos funny, and I didn't know why since my brother likes them and we have almost everything in common. Now I actually realize why because I just had a bad feeling about it.

Literally would have siblings log in under the students names...which makes no sense because we obviously know who it is...

Zoom bombing has actually been a huge problem at my university - there are hackers who are taking over the screen and showing porn as well as saying racial slurs. And not just popping in and doing something silly, like it’s actually people hacking in to do hate crimes who won’t leave (and don’t get banned cause the hosts don’t know what to do lol). It ends up with people ending the meeting a lot of times just to get rid of them, which I agree is super counter productive. But because they’ve basically gone against university harassment/safety/etc. policies they’re now being “investigated” and can be criminally charged if they’re caught, so, fingers crossed lol. 🤞

We love EEheatrs that get paid more than probably a whole school of teachers making their lives harder for no money to teach brats. Oh wait- no We don’t.

Happened to my school someone impersonated some students and they screamed and yelled cuss and racist slurs until my teacher cut them out it was awful. The others started screaming when the first was done we know that it was the same person cause they sound the same and cause the students were texting people asking why they can’t get in with screenshots and other things. Don’t know if they caught him :( wish they told us. Ps,One of them was my friend that was texting others in the class I know they would not do that cause they have anxiety. Oy, I’ve dealt with these and they are so unsettling. I myself am dealing with mental struggles such as anxiety, and these people who are crashing the zoom calls just spike my anxiety to extremes. Now, whenever there’s ever an inkling of a sign where someone could be crashing the zoom, my anxiety starts to rise, even if it’s just a false alarm. I hope that whoever thought these ideas were a good idea to do learns their lesson because while it’s harming teachers, it’s also harming my and other kids who have anxiety issues. It’s horrible and I hope no one has to go through these atrocious events. However extreme they may be, they are still damaging to mental health.

One time, one of my classmates gave our class code to an old ex classmate that we had and he entered the class and saying really bad stuff in the chat while being in our accounts, he logged into my account and my sister asked me"did you join the class? "and I said" no, why? " and she showed me that I was seen there in class and then after that he started shouting at teachers and putting music and then we found out who it was. And we allied with him and we let him do that at math again lmao so we can skip it. But yeah don't do that kids

My school was having a black history month zoom meeting,when several accounts showed porn and really racist images and videos. A lot of people were shocked and a lot of parents were annoyed. This is really a big problem even 10 months after this vid.

I was in a grief counseling session ( a group of students together getting counseling) in April, it was our 2nd or 3rd zoom meeting when some random person came in and had started saying racist and homophobic slurs. One of the students in the group visibly started having a panic attack. Our school said we were only allowed to do one more meeting after that, and as a result, we did not finish the counseling. It was horrible.

In Australia we stopped using zoom cause of zoom bombing and security issues in Victoria.

I actually remember during class we had his one person who had got in the class a couple times, apparently they did it in the previous class, but they were kicked out of the meet ( I think I heard someone say it was a student but I am am not sure).

As someone that actually likes learning new things I hate it when kids in my class are disruptive during live lessons. Like, if you want to have fun then just don’t join the class please, why do I have to suffer for your entertainment? One time a group sent the link to our session to another class and those students spent the entire hour kicking the teacher and other students out of the session, they basically ruined the only lesson I could see my teacher that week. I use Google Meets and WebEx, but I don’t think this is okay. I’ve seen comments about little kids seeing really bad things from random people joining the calls. It’s really wrong and messed up. I hope teachers can switch to other platforms like the ones I use for school, for the better.

There was this time where my little sisters zoom class got hijacked. I was in the same room bc she would need help to use it and we could use the same room to work. Now, for context, my sister is 7, in year 2. So she was using zoom, and a guy joined the call. The teacher was just surprised and didn't do anything about it. Big mistake on her part. The guy started screen sharing and the teacher didn't know what to do. He started showing inappropriate stuff and my sister started crying, he showed stuff like dead animals and nudes. The teacher managed to kick them and now my sister is completely traumatised bc of the dead animals, and is now wanting to know where the sex/nudes were about. Great.

The hijackers started talking about Nazis and then one of these people either played an inappropriate video, or was live streaming themselves doing the inappropriate thing. The only time I was able to use Zoom class was on a very solemm like meeting. Consisted of around 500? The entire student high in one zoom meet. (I school in a catholic school) and we were in a mass. Suddenly someone started saying like bad words and saying s*x ed things. The teachers think its one of the students, but Until now..I think it wasn’t anyone in our school.Like who would dare do that??

My best friend’s presentation she worked so hard for on got bombed in her Comm class last year. Someone not in the class got a hold of the Zoom link, didn’t have their camera on and started messaging the chat with racial slurs and misogynistic things, and my friend started glancing at them as they kept going and she kept trying to present, but then the person turned on their audio and they were being very verbal about what they were saying in the chat. Her professor terminated the meeting with no warning and emailed everyone in the class that they would have people present the next class. She already has anxiety when it comes to presenting so it was super traumatic. Don’t support peeps who do this shit or anything similar, like even just showing up and not doing anything, it’s a total distraction and waste of everyone’s time. College students pay thousands to get an education just for it to get taken away by ignorant people.
