But I was so scared when I heard my sister had gotten it. We're not that old, but most of my family has asthma problems and weak lungs. I don't think I'm really over that fear and those feelings, even though she and her friends that got it at the same time all recovered. I also remember just being incredibly angry because she got it from other folk who weren't treating Covid 19 as serious.

D'angelo, I was in the same position as you. It was during November of last year, too, and it was also sudden on my end. I didn't have time to react as I had my senior year left to finish, and so, to cope, I buried myself under my work; pretended that I was fine; that my grandparents did not have COVID. My uncle lives with them, and he's not the brightest of the bunch; he's not the uncle I thought he was, and that fact was painful, too. I refused to accept the truth, when I hear so many stories where people said their last goodbyes to their loved ones, never able to give a proper funeral. I am lucky that my grandparents are still alive, but I feel guilty I'm happy over that when there are so fucking many who have the opposite of what I have.

These influencers literally depended on us for their success and yet showed no empathy for our well being. They can't handle knowing that they are NOTHING without us. So, they lie and manipulate us into thinking that they aren't in the wrong. It's like being in a toxic relationship with someone that makes you feel like you matter to them, but does no effort to show it. It may sound harsh, but after showing their true character during this pandemic (while thousands of people are dying more and more everyday), taking it lightly isn't on the table anymore.

My brother caught covid and didn't tell anyone. He visited us. He visited our walita and uncle and great great aunt, who's over a hundred by the way. Then he went back to my other grandparent's house, where he was staying. My grandfather has pre-existing health issues. My grandmother caught it and almost died, and he didn't even have the fucking decency to tell us that my grandmother was in the hospital until she got out. She was on a ventilator for three weeks. I caught it, luckily it was mild and I didn't have to go to the hospital, we wouldn't have been able to afford it. I got tested, I had caught it, I couldn't eat, and I could barely move, but my mom was working and giving me money, so I was fine. My grandfather wasn't allowed to see his wife for well over a month, because his health issues meant that he definitely would've died had he caught it. My great great aunt could've died. My uncle almost died on christmas day. He actually lost a pulse on fucking christmas. Everyone's still alive, but the next time I see my brother, I'm kicking his ass, because I don't know how someone can be such an asshole. He had nothing to gain from it, he's not an online influencer, he leeches off my grandparents, so if they die then he's fucking screwed, and yet he still fucking did it and I don't know why.
